Providing life transforming programs and services to thousands of souls every year is extremely expensive. In 2013, over $13 million was invested by The Salvation Army into the lives of the hurting and struggling right here in Southern Nevada. As we strive to fulfill our mission to "meet human needs", we are blessed by the generosity of our loyal donors and the proceeds of our special events. These friend and fund raisers are always a wonderful time for a great cause.
We'd love to see you at our next event! Check out our "What's Happening Now".
The SOLD OUT event was a great success! Hosted at the ultra exclusive Palomino Hacienda, the Official Las Vegas Estate of Michael Jackson, this year's banquet was our best to date.
This spectacular night began with a VIP Reception in the Neverland Chapel. Harp music filled the chamber as our guests arrived to mix and mingle.
The main event included the old school charm and laughs provided by Las Vegas Legends Rich Little and Steve Rossi. However, the real highlights of the evening were the miraculous stories of transformation provided by The Salvation Army Southern Nevada's clients.
Thank you to our incomparable Advisory Board for their dedicated efforts, our terrific event volunteers, Incredible Events Catering and By Dzign Events for providing amazing food and fantastic ambiance. We are so grateful for their generosity in making this event a phenomenal one!
The first Salvation Army Southern Nevada event of its kind put aspiring Chefs from the Le Cordon Bleu and The Salvation Army's Vocational Program to the test!
The showdown displayed the student's ability to cook under pressure with a mystery basket of ingredients commonly found in The Salvation Army Family Service's Food Pantry. Contestants were judged on the presentation, taste, and creativity of the meals they created. The challenge consisted of an appetizer, main course, and a dessert round.
This event was tasteful as well as entertaining and all proceeds benefited The Salvation Army Southern Nevada's Family Services.
In its 48th year, this event has really got it going on! Showcasing gorgeous clothing donations from Camille Cosby and Joan Rivers along with the best of the best community donations to our local Salvation Army Thrift Stores, the ladies of SAWA modeled fashionable clothes, jewelry and handbags all of which were for sale at this longstanding Las Vegas tradition.
The proceeds of the lovely luncheon, raffle with tons of prizes and sales of the donation items were all generously donated to The Salvation Army Southern Nevada's general service fund.
The remaining treasures are still for sale, along with other great collectibles. Find them at a Salvation Army Thrift Store near you!
